| Loading swf file from a web hosting service takes too long (Wed May 31, 2006 10:23 pm) |
I have installed the swf file onto our web hosting service. It takes a long time for flash to download and run the file in the browser. Is there a way to stream the invocation. i.e. start playing the swf file before it fully downloads? |

Check out http://www.wimpyplayer.com
They have have a player that will "stream" SWF or FLV files from a PHP, ASP or CF server. The "Streaming" is actually a progressive download (the file does play as it downloads). Therefore, anyone concerned with the security of their content should beware. With that said, its cheap and it works great. |

There is no option inside Wink to make the rendered file play before it is completely downloaded. |

I finally posted a few streaming wink files, nothing fancy. I did a timed recording on the first video, and mouse driven on the second and third videos. I have some scaling issues with the video in the player that I have to sort out.

The player is wimpyAV (see link in previous post above).
